Teaching activities

Department offers courses in:

inorganic and organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, food chemistry, food analysis, modification of the structures of organic compounds, biosynthesis, synthesis of biologically active compounds and natural product chemistry.

Research topics:

  1. Biotransformations of biologically active compounds: hormones, steroids, prochiral ketones, flavonoids and others using microbial and plant enzyme systems in order to modify their activity.
  2. Synthesis of biologically active compounds useful for the food industry.
  3. Development of methods for the preparation of optically active lactones with fungistatic activity and compounds regulating the behavior of insects (repellents and antifeedants).
  4. Synthesis of new aroma isoprenoid compounds.
  5. The chemical and enzymatic modifications of natural phospholipids.
  6. Identification of plant-secondary metabolites profile.
